The Event Host acts as a liaison between the Facility Sales and Events team and the client to provide a fun, memorable celebration. Working independently and with other team members, the Event Host is responsible for facilitating multiple science-themed parties on weekends and occasional weeknight evenings. In addition to being comfortable with public speaking and interacting with groups of children and adults, the ideal candidate is passionate about science and exemplary customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as the onsite contact for birthday parties hosted at Arizona Science Center, maintaining a friendly and outgoing demeanor
Facilitate all celebratory activities during the party, including but not limited to:
Greeting guests and directing patrons to the party room
Delivering a variety of science-themed demonstrations and activities
Receiving and serving food, beverages and cake
Assisting with transition from party space to Arizona Science Center main floor
Ensuring that parties run smoothly by proactively monitoring and responding to any questions, concerns, or requests
Setup and strike of the party room including tables, chairs, decorations, and other equipment as required
Maintain and organize party room and storage spaces
Report on party activities, any follow up, supply requests, etc.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum one-year customer service experience.
